Welcome!

Ok, I will do a better job at this blogging thing.  Promise.  It is just so new to me, and I am used to pithy comments on Facebook or Twitter (although I don’t understand why people want to know what goes on all the time in my life.  I wish it were more exciting!!!!

So, today is the first day alone without Emily, who is back at American University, in Washington, DC, and is currently in her first summer school class, Studio Art! All I know is that I wish I were a fly on the wall to see this!  I look forward to seeing her creations.

We hit all the art stores here in Northern DE, and were still unable to get everything on the class list of supplies!  I never knew there were so many kinds of brushes!  LOL.  Maybe that is how people feel about jewelry!!!!!!!

Speaking of jewelry, have you seen my new website?  www.andrealevinedesigns.com.  I am so proud that it is so much better than in the past, and truly reflects the lines well.  What do you think?  I would love to read your comments.

Please feel free to add ideas or suggestions, and upload photos of your purchases from my collections!  I would love to include these in my blog.  Photos of your pets are always welcomed, too!

Best Wishes and Wags,

Andrea

Life in Wilmington

Today has been a sleepy kind of day here in Wilmington.  Cold and rainy.  I went outside and took some photos of my home with all the trees in bloom, and wish it could be like this all year round.  Those of you who follow me on Facebook know how snowy it gets here in the winter.  I certainly prefer flowers to snow!

Ok, so I have designed a fundraiser for the DE Humane Society.  I should have a photo of it soon to post.  I think it will be great for anyone who loves animals, and affordable because it is stainless steel!  It will be a tag for both pets and people, and I am donating a number to DHA to sell, and I will also offer them on my website, with a portion of the proceeds going to DHA.  I cannot wait till they come out of production.

Here are some of the shots I took outside today.  Hope you like them!!!

Ok, today is gloriously warm, and the magnolia tree and cherry trees are in blossom!  What a pleasure to go out with the dogs and play.  The dogs and I had a blast in the back yard.  Rudi chews the Frisbee, rather than retrieves it!!!!

Thoughts on charitybuzz.com

This is my first attempt at writing a blog post!  I am finally digging in and trying to be 21st century!  It is hard to teach an old dog new tricks!!!  Hopefully this is just the beginning of many more to come…..

Well, first, I want to thank all my friends and colleagues for looking and possibly bidding on my yellow gold and yellow sapphire large open paw necklace that was posted on the Tsunami Relief Auction, along with such wonderful articles like James Taylor’s signed acoustic guitar, and meet and greets with many celebrities.  I felt like a miny celeb just having my necklace included in the auction on charitybuzz.com!

I hope it raised a lot of money for World Vets, an organization like Doctors Without Borders, but with volunteer veterinarians who travel around the world helping our 4 legged victims who cannot help themselves.  I only hope the necklace was able to help volunteers go to Japan, and aid the animals there.

My Sister-In-Law, Joan B. Mirviss, was written up in the Wall Street Journal this past week for her philanthropic efforts to help the Japanese through the Japan Society.  Joan is a Japanese art dealer and authority in NYC, and is very connected to friends and colleagues there.  Congratulations, Joan, for being recognized for such wonderful work!!!!

So I am including a picture (hopefully) of my necklace that was auctioned on charitybuzz.com.  If you have not been to the site, or have not registered to participate in their amazing auctions, please do:  www.charitybuzz.com.

Thanks for reading my blog, and I look forward to hearing from you for your comments, ideas, suggestions, and more!

Best Wishes and Wags,

Andrea
